Orlando’s Lake Nona 2012

 “Medical City” Updates

The latest news circulating around Orlando and the Nation is that Lake Nona's Medical City is on schedule to have the University of Florida's Research and Academic Center open sometime this summer, followed by Nemours Children's Hospital in the fall joining the existing Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and the Burnett Biomedical Sciences Building, which houses MD Anderson Orlando Cancer Research Institute  which opened during 2009 and 2010. The Orlando Veteran's Affairs Medical Center was also scheduled to open its doors in the fall of 2012, but due to construction issues, reported by the local news media, has now pushed back that projected opening to the summer of 2013.

The Orlando area expects thousands of job opportunities to become available in the near future as these facilities begin the process of hiring staff and other employees to fill the many positions created to operate at maximum capacity.

Local Realtors look forward with great anticipation to these new jobs having a huge impact on the Housing Industry in the Orlando area.
